The Music Man
The Music Man tells the story of a con artist who roams small American towns to sell a revolutionary « thinking method » enabling people to play music without having to learn. He persuades the local councillors to create a brass band and to purchase the instruments and uniforms through him. Once the money in his pocket, he quickly vanishes.
However, in River City, heart of Iowa, he falls in love with Marian, the young librarian. He can’t bring himself to take flight. He is foiled, about to be tarred and feathered but Marian speaks up for him. With his formidable force of persuasion, he fired the imagination of the whole town. Doesn’t this dream deserve to be fulfilled ? Shouldn’t everyone work towards its completion ?
Jean Lacornerie will gather 150 professionals et amateurs in order to tell the story of this community who wants to build an artistic project. The groups of amateurs in dance, brass band, slam, musical theatre and choir will be lead by professional artists who will organise various workshops for the rehearsals. The point of this adventure lies in the gathering of these many talents : to embody art in life.
